Although ASSE International Student Exchange Programs was incorporated as a non-profit, public benefit organization in the United States in March 1976, its history dates back to 1938. It began with an exchange program instituted by the Swedish Ministry of Education between Sweden and Germany. Since our initial designation 49 years ago, ASSE has collaborated closely with the U.S. Department of State to administer successful exchange programs for well over 100,000 secondary school students in North America and many other countries hosting our outbound students.
With decades of experience in student exchange programs, ASSE International is a trusted name in cultural exchange. Committed not only to education but also to creating ambassadors of peace and understanding. ASSE Programs and services span, in Addition to its leading Study Abroad program other Exchange Programs such as Summer Work Travel, Au Pair, Intern/Trainee, University Scholarships.
ASSE’s mission is to foster international understanding through educational and cross cultural programs.
