Please note: The application link is for students currently living in the United States. If you live outside the U.S., we encourage you to reach out to your Local Study Abroad office in your home country.
Early application discount (High School Year Program Only)
If you submit your Preliminary Application and Fee, completed Application Packet and Full Program Fee by:
15 December: Programs starting July/August/September.
15 May: Programs starting January/February/March/May.
You will receive a 10% reduction in the Program Fee (excluding the Preliminary Application Fee) for applying early.
How the Application Process Works

1. Apply Online
Start by filling out the online application and submitting the $350 preliminary fee. Once that’s done, your local ASSE Representative will reach out to schedule a short interview and answer any questions you have. You’ll also get access to your Student Profile, where you can begin working on your full Application Package.

2. Complete Your Application
Once your application is ready, submit it along with your program deposit before the deadline. Your ASSE Rep will guide you through this process and make sure everything is in place.

3. Application Review
After ASSE reviews and approves your application, it will be sent to our partner office in your chosen host country. You’ll receive confirmation once it’s officially under review abroad.

4. Submit Program Payment
While our partner office begins the search for your host family, you’ll follow the payment schedule to complete your program fee. You’ll also start getting emails and updates to help you prepare for your experience.

5. Host Family Match
As soon as your host family is confirmed, we’ll contact you with the exciting news! Some matches happen quickly, while others may be closer to your departure. Either way, you’ll be able to start connecting with your host family right away.

6. Get Ready to Go
Before your departure, you’ll attend a Pre-Departure Orientation where you and your family will get all the final details. Once you receive your flight information—you’re officially ready to begin your adventure abroad!
