Summer in Slovakia is full of life—from folk music and dance festivals to weekend mountain hikes, open-air concerts, and relaxing family picnics. ASSE’s 6-week Summer Immersion Program gives you the opportunity to live like a local—without the demands of school.

You’ll stay with a caring Slovak host family and join in their summer rhythm: family dinners, day trips, community celebrations, and slow evenings filled with laughter. Many Slovak families spend weekends hiking, biking, or visiting family in the countryside, and you’ll be invited to come along. You might attend a summer concert at Old Town Hall, wander up to Bratislava Castle for panoramic views, or enjoy a lazy afternoon at one of the city’s many cozy cafés.

This is also the perfect chance to begin learning the Slovak language naturally, through casual conversations, games, cooking together, and day-to-day experiences. If you love the outdoors, cultural events, and authentic human connection, a summer abroad in Slovakia will be a meaningful, refreshing, and unforgettable experience.
